I had the pleasure to return to Shepherd University this past Tuesday to lecture on International Ethics in the Undergraduate International Business classes taught by Kathleen Maiden. This is the second semester she has invited me. Like last semester, the experience was very rewarding.
Admittedly I changed the PPT somewhat to make the end of the lecture more interesting. I found that it was more interesting to share interesting parts of my life by listing a bunch of Happenings on the final Q&A. I lived up to my commitment to teach valuable information on Ethics and the Code of Conduct. Once again I used my favorite example, Dow.
Once we got through talking about the strong Codes of Conduct and Company Ethics found with good reliable business partners we quickly covered those international organizations that have the strongest codes of conduct, those you don’t necessarily want to run to do business with, or to jump in bed with, since breaking their codes of conduct are reacted to much more than just being fired. Those of course I referred to are criminal organizations and terrorists.
Once we did get to the Q&A I listed as many topics I could think of that would get their attention. I then had the pleasure of talking about my past experiences. Most of the Q&A in the evening class was on my Interogation by the KGB in 1993.
If you teach a class and would like to talk with me about being a Guest Lecturer please let me know.
Thanks for reading
Steve
